CASE STUDY
Architectural Elegance
Meets Contemporary Design
The kitchen was always going to be the centrepiece of this Ribble Valley home. The homeowners wanted a space that felt bold, architectural, and perfectly in keeping with the striking design of the property. It needed to be both visually impressive and practical for everyday life.
Having owned a SieMatic kitchen previously, the clients chose the brand again for its quality and design. Their plan had been to transform the space into something truly spectacular: a pinnacle project that would set the tone for the entire home.
With an established relationship already in place, Stuart Frazer was the natural choice to deliver this ambitious transformation. They had previously completed both a garden kitchen and a bespoke bar area for the couple, earning the clients’ trust through exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. At the heart of the design process was designer David Walthall, whose creativity, technical expertise, and clear understanding of the clients’ lifestyle had impressed them from the outset. His ability to interpret their ideas and translate them into beautifully resolved, architectural spaces made him a key part of the project’s success.
The design developed through visits to both Stuart Frazer’s Manchester and Ribble Valley showrooms, allowing the clients to explore alternative displays, refine material choices, and discover new ideas. These experiences helped them confidently finalise a kitchen that is bold, modern, and perfectly suited to the architecture of the home.
At the centre of the space stands the largest island Stuart Frazer has ever created – an impressive 3.2m x 3.2m statement piece that anchors the entire room and is comprised of SieMatic SLX with vein-matched ceramic stone surfaces. The kitchen perimeter units are a brushed bronze aluminium door to complement the island. The Pocket door larders feature stone units that extend through the worktop and rise up the back panels, creating a strong sense of continuity and architectural impact.
Gaggenau appliances were selected throughout, reflecting the clients’ previous experience with the brand and their appreciation for its performance and build quality. Highlights include the brand-new 76cm extra-wide ovens, offering advanced functionality, alongside a dual-hob configuration that delivers maximum flexibility when cooking and entertaining. One side of the island houses a full-surface induction hob with integrated downdraft, flush-fitted into the worktop for a sleek finish, while the other features a 400 Series Vario cooktop with gas griddle and Teppanyaki plate. Four warming drawers complete the setup, ensuring everything runs smoothly when hosting.
