Barn Transformation
When a Ribble Valley family set out to transform their dream home—a barn full of character and history—they knew the kitchen would be the true heart of the space. To bring their vision to life, they turned to renowned interior designer Andy Clare, who collaborated closely with Paul Rigby at Stuart Frazer to create a kitchen that would honour the building’s heritage while embracing modern living.
The brief was clear: celebrate the barn’s original features while introducing a sleek, contemporary design that would elevate the space. The result is a striking juxtaposition of old and new; where rustic beams, existing steel work and time-worn textures meet clean white lines and a minimal palette.
Architectural simplicity defines the design. A crisp, uncluttered aesthetic allows the character of the barn to shine, while the refined, contemporary kitchen create a sense of calm and cohesion. The use of a clean white palette enhances the natural light, transforming the space into a bright, open, and inviting environment.
This is more than just a kitchen—it’s a statement. A seamless blend of heritage and modernity, it delivers a true “wow” factor while remaining effortlessly functional. The perfect contrast between past and present has been achieved, creating a dream space that sits proudly at the heart of the home.
